2009 Captains
HAMILTON, N.Y. (1/5/2009)—Colgate University men's lacrosse head coach Jim Nagle announced that seniors Kevin Colleluori (Bethpage, N.Y.), Brandon Corp (Chittenango, N.Y.), Andrew Watkins (Timonium, Md.) and junior Ian Murphy (Constantia, N.Y.) will serve as captains for the upcoming 2009 season.

Colleluori returns after starting all 17 games at attack last season and was selected to the all-Patriot League second team. Colleluori ranked third on the team in points last season with 44 and was second in goals with a career-high 35. A natural leader on the field Collelouri led all attackers with 32 groundballs last season and is up for the challenge. Last year in the post season he added three goals in Colgate's win over Bucknell in the Patriot League title game and scored twice in the NCAA Tournament game at Notre Dame. Colleluori has 65 goals and 13 assists during his career for 78 points.

Corp, the two-time reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year has earned pre-season all-American recognition three times. Corp has been named to the All-Patriot League team three times in his career and earned All-American status in both his sophomore and junior campaigns.

Corp led the Patriot League in scoring last season with 56 points off of 41 goals and 15 assists. His 41 tallies ranks fifth all-time, while his overall 56 points is seventh in Colgate single-season history. He is a three-time all-Patriot League selection, earning first-team recognition each of the past two seasons. Corp has tallied at least one point in 33 consecutive games, dating back to the beginning of the 2007 season. He proved to be instrumental in the Raiders' run to the Patriot League Championship, registering a Patriot League Tournament record eight goals and 11 points in the two games, including five tallies in the semifinal upset of Navy. For his career he has 92 goals and 39 assists for 131 points. He currently ranks sixth all-time in career goals and is 10th career points.

Watkins returns after playing in 17 games, starting 16, as a longstick defenseman in 2008. A leader by example on and off the field, he led all defensemen with 33 groundballs last season and was the leader on a defensive unit that allowed just 8.74 goals per game and just eight man-up goals all season. He picked up a career-high five groundballs in the comeback victory over Lehigh. The Raiders have ranked in the top 25 in scoring defense in each of the past three years.

Murphy played all 17 games on Colgate's top midfield line and was named to the all-Patriot League second team last season. Murphy was fourth on the team in scoring with 24 goals and four assists for 28 points and was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a career-high four goals against then-No. 9 Bucknell.

The Raiders kick off the season on Feb. 13 against Canisius at 4 p.m. at Andy Kerr Stadium.
