“It is a great honor to be named captain and follow in the footsteps of all the great football players in Colgate's history,” said Gallihugh, a senior linebacker from Midlothian, Va. “The three of us are looking forward to the upcoming season.”
“It’s a terrific honor to be elected captain by my teammates,” says Nolan, a senior defensive tackle from Exeter, N.H. “I take a lot of pride in sharing this responsibility with Mike and Cody who are both great football players and great leaders. There has been excellent leadership from the past seniors and captains since I have been here and I expect no less from this team.”
“It's truly a great honor, especially when you look at past captains that we have had here at Colgate,” said Williams, a senior from Blasdell, N.Y. “It meant a lot to me to be put on the same level as some of the great leaders here in the past. Also it shows a lot about what my fellow teammates think of me and I respect that as well as this opportunity.”
Colgate opens the 2007 season on Saturday, September 1, hosting Albany in a 1 p.m. game at Andy Kerr Stadium.
