KENORA, Ont. (9/11/06) - Colgate University senior defenseman Tara French (Truro, N.S.) and Team Black earned a second-place finish at the Canadian National Women's Team Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 9.

The championship game pit Team Red vs. Team Black and ended in a shootout to determine the winner.  Team Red scored in the seventh round of the shootouts for the 6-5 victory.

French scored one goal and added an assist at the Fall Festival, and was second on team in penalty minutes.

She earned her assist in Team Black's first game of the Fall Festival, feeding Gina Kinsbury in the team's 4-1 loss to Team White on Monday, Sept. 4. On Thursday, Sept. 7 she scored in 9-6 loss to Team Red.

The first three days of competition was played 5-on-5 in a round robin format.  On Thursday, the teams played 4-on-4 with between period shootouts and a final shootout.  On Friday it was 4-on-4 again but this time periods were 15 minutes long and there were no shootouts.  The final was played 5-on-5.
