Junior Year (2013): Appeared in 27 matches with 25 starts while playing in 78 sets ... her 41 total blocks ranked third on the team ... finished with 141 kills, averaging 1.81 per set, and 24 digs ... set career-high for digs with 13 in a four-set win at Navy on Oct. 5 ... recorded 11 kills against Seton Hall (Sept. 6), Lehigh (Oct. 4) and Albany (Oct. 16) ... set season-high with four blocks against both Yale (Sept. 7) and LIU Brooklyn (Sept. 14).

Sophomore Year (2012): Played 17 matches with 33 sets appeared in ... tallied 42 kills and five service aces ... recorded 18 blocks and averaged 0.5 per set ... had five or more kills in three matches ... posted a season-high nine kills against Holy Cross on Sept. 28 and also added two blocks in the three-set sweep ... had seven kills against Navy on Nov. 10 and had four digs and two blocks in the 3-1 win for Colgate ... recorded six kills the week before against the Crusaders and she had two services as well.  

Freshman Year (2011): Appeared in 25 matches and 76 sets in her first season as a Raider ... fnished fifth on the team in kills with 117 ... averaged 1.54 kills per set ... second on the team with 53 total blocks with 46 coming as assisted blocks ... tallied double-digit kills twice with her season-high coming against TCU on Sept. 10 with 12 ... ended up with 10 against Cornell on Oct. 11 ... had six matches with for or more total blocks ... had five against New Mexico State on Sept. 16, to go along with nine kills ... recorded another five against Bucknell on Oct. 8 ... added 15 digs during the year ... finished the year 10th in the conference in hitting percentage at 26 percent ... was 10th in blocks per set at 0.70.

Before Colgate: Played four years of volleyball at Westlake High School in Class 5A in Texas … posted 315 kills and 214 blocks in her career for the Chaparrals … had a career .360 hitting percentage and a .500 kill percentage … as a senior captain, she posted 186 kills, 107 blocks and 70 digs … was a junior on the squad that made it to the 5A State Finals in 2009 … was a 5A Region II Finalist in 2010 … made it to the AAU Nationals in 2010 and placed third … two-time LoneStarVolleyball.com All-Texas Team honorable mention … 2010 first team all-district and was a second teamer in 2009 … led the district in blocks with 107 as a senior … was a 2010 PrepVolleyball.com Academic All-American and a Texas All-Academic Team member … led the team in blocks in her final two seasons.

Personal: McKenzie Elizabeth Hume...is the daughter of Edward and Judy Hume … born in Austin, Texas … had two brothers … was a member of the National Honor Society … vice president of the Spanish Club … voted most likely to become a professional athlete by the senior class.

Why she chose Colgate: “Initially I was drawn to Colgate because of its outstanding academic reputation and competitive athletics. After visiting the campus for the first time, I fell in love with it. Both the school and the volleyball program seemed like a perfect fit for me.”
