Paul Stinson was named as the Colgate University women’s soccer second assistant coach in August 2007.
Stinson is the former Colby-Sawyer College head women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse coach, a position he held from 2003-2007. He managed all aspects of both programs including recruitment, budget, staffing, scheduling and fundraising. In 2004, Stinson was named the 2004 Commonwealth Coast Coach of the Year in women’s lacrosse, an award voted on by his peers. He was a co-advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and also provided event management for home swimming & diving meets as well as basketball games.
A member of the New Hampshire Olympic Development Program since 2003, Stinson was the U-16 Girls’ State Team head coach in 2004 and 2005 and was the U-19 Girls State Team assistant coach in 2003.
Stinson was an assistant coach at Clarkson University from 2001-03, for both the women’s soccer and lacrosse teams. His primary responsibilities included goalkeeping and strength training.
Prior to joining the Clarkson staff, Stinson was an assistant men and women’s soccer coach at Iowa Central Community College. Both teams were ranked in the top 15 nationally in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I and won Region XI titles in 2000.
Stinson has worked numerous summer soccer camps at Colby-Sawyer, Dartmouth, Clarkson, Miami University and Iowa Central Community College.
A 2000 graduate from Kenyon College, Stinson played for the Lords’ men’s soccer team for three seasons and received a degree in sociology.
