What I like about being a Faculty Liaison
Getting to get to know some amazing student-athletes who I wouldn't  otherwise; feeling sportier than I probably am; the prospect of having access to Gatorade from those squeezey bottles.

An influential person in my career
My post-30 athletic career: Chris Henke & Rob Nemes. We run together twice a week and do the Boilermaker in Utica over the summer. Despite them making fun of me all the time, it's relatively good company and community.

An idea or invention I wish I had thought of
Marx's Theory of Commodity Fetishism.

Favorite hero
Coach Taylor.

Favorite possession
I've been taking (yin) yoga classes lately (with Armani Aburto) and have been working on my non-attachment thing, so I'm working on tryna not possess things in that colonial-kind-of-way (despite what I understand to be a kind of colonial appropriation in doing yoga in the first place).

Favorite sports memory
Being with my pops in the absolute last row in left field of Veterans Stadium for Game 5 of the 1993 World Series when Curt Shilling tossed a 2-0 shutout. Despite what happened in Game 6 (ugh, still hate Toronto), for my money, the 1993 Phillies were the best team of all time ever in all of their misfitness.

Favorite memento
I pitched a shutout in the championship game of the Wayne County U-15 baseball tournament in like '94 – summer camp, took this stuff seriously. I have a ball signed by everyone on the team including the coaches, one of whom is Mark Feinsand, the Yankees beat writer for the NY Daily News.

Favorite magazine, hard-copy or online
Too hard. I read Us Weekly in line at Price Chopper. I like seeing stars being like me and considering who wore it better.

Favorite music type, singer or group
Growing up, we always had on Fridays with Frank and Sundays with Sinatra with Sid Mark on the 1210 am dial. Sinatra is by no means my jam, but it reminds me of home, which goes a long way.

Favorite book
Maybe The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf.

Favorite quote:
Clear eyes. Full Hearts. Can't lose.” – Friday Night Lights.
