During his time at Springfield, Rowan concentrated in coaching the 200-, 400- and 800-meter races, as well as the steeplechase, relays, hurdles and distance. On top of that, he assisted in the high jump and throwing. He holds a USATF Level 1 coaching certificate and is a member of the USATF and USTCCCA organizations.
