Colgate Athletics named Brittany Adell its women's rowing head coach in August 2017.

Adell arrived after spending two seasons as the assistant coach at Villanova, where she helped manage a 50-member squad of student-athletes. She led all recruiting efforts and supported the Wildcat program in developing a positive environment for growth and success.

"It gives me great pleasure to welcome Brittany to the Colgate family," said Colgate Vice President and Director of Athletics Victoria M. Chun '91, MA'94. "She shows a commitment to student-athletes pursuing excellence in all facets of their collegiate endeavors.

"I am confident that her experience as a successful student-athlete and coach, along with her enthusiasm and vision, will take our program to new heights."

Before Villanova, Adell spent one season as the assistant coach and intern at Dayton. She oversaw the 20-member novice program and managed all on-campus recruiting of novice rowers.

"I would like to thank Vicky Chun, Anne-Marie Guglieri, Angela Marathakis and the rest of the search committee for this incredible opportunity to lead Colgate Women's Rowing," Adell said. "Colgate is a top-notch university and I am honored to step into this role. I am looking forward to working with the faculty, athletic department and student-athletes to create an environment that supports success both in the classroom and on the water."

During her time at Temple, Adell earned the program's Novice Award, Dedication Award and Inspiration Award. She was named team captain for the 2012-13 season and was the women's rowing rep that year on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

A native of Gray, Maine, Adell spent her first season after graduation as assistant coach for the Radnor Girls Crew Club. She attended the NCAA/NACWAA Women's Leadership Symposium in May 2015 and the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy in December 2016.
