Macey Hollenshead

Macey Hollenshead joined the Colgate women's basketball coaching staff in August 2022 as an assistant coach.

Hollenshead served as the interim head coach for the Raiders WNIT First Round game against Coppin State in March of 2025.

Hollenshead recently served as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Fairfield University. Under the leadership of the 2021-22 MAAC Coach of the Year Joe Fager, some of Hollenshead’s responsibilities included guard development, defensive liaison, and analyzing opponent’s film. She helped coach the 2021-22 MAAC Player of the Year, Lou Lopex-Senechal, as well as the 2021-22 MAAC Sixth Player of the Year, Sam Lewis, and Third-Team All-MAAC honoree, Rachel Hakes.

In addition to the awards, Fairfield had the best record in program history during her time on the coaching staff. The Stags won the MAAC Tournament during this historic season, playing the No. 2 seed Texas Longhorns in the NCAA Tournament.

“I am extremely excited to join the Colgate Community and look forward to working with Coach G and the staff,” said Hollenshead. “Colgate is a fantastic university that promotes personal and professional growth. I look forward to getting on the court and working with our student-athletes.”

Before her time at Fairfield, Hollenshead stopped at Shepherd University as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Hollenshead helped create a recruiting pool for the rest of the coaching staff, along with creating analytical scouting reports and leading group skill development.

“I am really looking forward to working with Macey Hollenshead,” Adeduntan said. “I was thoroughly impressed with her throughout the hiring process and feel she will be a great asset to our women’s basketball program.

“Macey is a perfect fit for Colgate women’s basketball. She not only displays our institution and athletic department’s values, but our program’s absolutes of competitiveness, energy, and enthusiasm shining the brightest. I cannot wait for her to get started!”

Prior to serving as an assistant coach, Hollenshead was a graduate assistant for the Seton Hill women’s basketball team. During her time with the Griffins, Hollenshead assisted head coach Mark Katarski in managing the program while also performing operational duties. Hollenshead earned her Master of Business Administration with a focus on forensic accounting from Seton Hill in 2020.

Hollenshead played collegiately for the Stags from 2014-18. Fairfield appeared in the MAAC semi-finals two times during her time in Connecticut, along with four winning seasons. As a senior, Hollenshead led the Stags in shooting beyond the arc at an outstanding 38 percent.

A three-time honoree on the MAAC All-Academic team, Hollenshead graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fairfield with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
