Colgate head coach Nicci Hays Fort announced in June 2014 the addition of assistant coach Justin Paluch to her women’s basketball coaching staff.
Paluch arrived at Colgate after serving as a graduate assistant at Michigan State for almost two years. He assisted the Spartans coaching staff with recruiting visits and was in charge of updating the team’s social media. Paluch acted as director of basketball operations for a tournament trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and also managed 14 of the teams’ managers on a daily basis.
Before Michigan State, Paluch acted as co-head student manager for one season at his alma mater, Connecticut. He was in charge of scheduling the managers and practice players for each day’s practice, as well as coordinating food orders and equipment during team travel.
He previously spent two years as a practice player for the Huskies women’s basketball program and then two years as a manager before his stint as co-head manager. Connecticut advanced to the Women’s Final Four all five seasons during Paluch’s association, and won the 2009 and 2010 national championships.
A native of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, Paluch in 2012 earned a B.S. in management information systems and a B.S. in sport management, both from Connecticut. He received his M.S. in sports administration from Michigan State in May 2014.
Paluch resides in Hamilton with his wife, Anna, and their dog, Cooper.
