Jackie Stewart was named Colgate’s Director of Women’s Basketball Operations in August 2019.
Stewart is responsible for managing team travel and also organizing summer camps and recruiting visits.
Stewart arrived at Colgate after two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Division III DeSales under head coach Fred Richter. She helped the Bulldogs to a perfect 16-0 record and 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference championship. DeSales went on to a 27-3 overall finish and No. 10 final national ranking by the WBCA. DeSales in Stewart’s first season finished second in the MAC.
While at DeSales, Stewart assisted in the program’s recruiting, scouting, game day and social media efforts while also serving as the team’s guards coach.
Stewart played her collegiate basketball at Grove City, serving as a two-year captain. She broke the school-record by making 107 career appearances without ever missing one game in her career. Stewart finished with the second highest season free throw percentage (86.3%), ranked 10th in career minutes played (2,582), seventh in career free throw percentage (77.7%) and scored 627 career points.
She went on to play and coach for an Athletes in Action team composed of players from all three NCAA divisions. They traveled to Ethiopia and competed against local university teams while also conducting clinics and humanitarian projects for the people of Ethiopia.
Stewart was selected in 2017 for the WBCA’s “So You Want To Be A Coach” program in Dallas.
The Pittsburgh native is a 2017 graduate of Grove City College, earning a bachelor of arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. While at DeSales, she earned her Masters of Education in Instructional Technology K-12. Stewart during her GCC days served on SAAC as a junior and senior and worked three years as a student assistant for the Sports Information office.
