Helen Tau enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Raiders in 2021-22.

Tau comes to Colgate after one season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Princeton, where she helped the team post a 26-1 overall record, including an undefeated 14-0 mark in conference play.

The team capped off the regular season on a 22-game unbeaten streak, the second longest in the country behind No. 1 South Carolina, and ranked No. 9 in the RPI, the best mark in Ivy League history.

Princeton claimed three All-Ivy selections in 2019-20, highlighted by Bella Alarie earning her third consecutive Ivy League Player of the Year award.

Tau had spent the previous two seasons with Georgetown as the Director of Video Operations. While there, she handled video for the squad and social media responsibilities.

Prior to Georgetown, Tau was a graduate assistant for two years at Texas. With the Longhorns, she did video breakdown and scouts to help the coaching staff and created a metric system to evaluate player performance during both games and practice. Tau also spent time at Texas as a student manager before walking on to the team as senior, earning an athletic scholarship in her final semester.

The former Longhorn also has experience coaching with Texas Elite Basketball and Westlake Hoops. Other experiences include program coordinator with the Shorthorns and operations intern with Austin Spurs of the NBA G-League.

Tau graduated from Texas in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Honors and Finance before earning her Master's Degree in Sport Management in 2017. She served as a student manager before walking on to the team as a senior, earning an athletic scholarship in her final semester.
