Nicole Burlinson was named to the Colgate Cross Country and Track and Field and Staff as Director of Operations and Team Manager in July 2018.
Burlinson arrived at Colgate after two years at Findlay, where she served as graduate assistant for cross country and track and field. Her final season with the Oilers saw added duties as coach for cross country and distance.
While at Findlay, Burlinson helped the Oilers to the 2018 Great Midwest Athletic Conference team championship in indoor track and field. During the spring season, Findlay finished second in the men’s competition and third in the women at the G-MAC outdoor championships.
Burlinson competed collegiately at both Notre Dame (Ohio) and Ursuline. During her senior year at Notre Dame, she was the 2015 NCAA Division II Cross Country All-Atlantic Region Medalist and captured the Mountain East Conference Women’s Cross Country individual title.
She previously set 12 Ursuline track and field records (nine indoor, three outdoor) in her three seasons and twice earned NCAA Division II All-America First Team honors in the 800 meters. Burlinson was a three-time NCAA national qualifier, three-time All-Atlantic Region selection and three-time NCAA Division II Academic All-American. She also was a six-time G-MAC champion and the 2014 G-MAC Track Athlete of the Year.
"I'm very happy to have Nicole on staff as a two-time All-American," said Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Amber Williams. "I'm looking forward to having her here on staff and sharing her expertise with our mid-distance crew. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the progress that she can make with our motivated student-athletes here at Colgate."
Burlinson is a native of Darlington, Great Britain. She earned a degree in sport management from Notre Dame College (Ohio) and then began work toward her master’s degree in business administration at Findlay.
In 2013, she competed at the British Track and Field Championships and Olympic Qualifying meet.
