Dana Grindall joined the Colgate coaching staff in August 2019.
In her second season with Colgate, Grindall helped guide both programs to successful seasons. The women’s swimming & diving team’s season was highlighted by six broken records, including three freshman records and three pool records. Both teams had a strong showing at both the April Pools Invitational and the Patriot League Challenge meet.
Grindall’s first season in Hamilton saw both swimming & diving teams having strong seasons. The women’s swimming & diving team finished the 2019-20 season with a 3-5 record, which was highlighted by wins against Niagra and Canisius. The Raiders had a strong finish to the season they picked up a Patriot League win against Lafayette. On the men’s side, Colgate had great performances against Niagra as well as at the Patriot League Championships.
Grindall joins the Raiders after she spent the past two years in Las Vegas as an educator at Teach For America and the Swim Coach at Western High School, while she earned a Master of Education degree at UNLV. She also served as a camp counselor for Penn State Athletics this past summer and helped develop young swimmers.
As an athlete, Grindall had a decorated career at the University of Wisconsin. During her time as a Badger, she was a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier, Big Ten Champion, First Team All-Big Ten member, All-American in 2015 and she broke the school record in the 200-yard Butterfly. She also served as a team captain for the 2016-17 campaign.
The Orange, Conn. native earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Wisconsin in May 2017.
