Colgate's John W. Beyer Head Men's Soccer Coach,
Erik Ronning has announced the addition of former University of Louisville goalkeeper Michael Mauro to the staff in May 2014.
Mauro will be assisting the Raiders in all aspects of the men's soccer program, including goalkeeper training, opponent scouting, video editing, on and off campus recruiting, individual player development, and day-to-day operations.

He is a terrific person and brings a wealth of knowledge to the program. I know he will help Colgate soccer achieve a high standard of success as we continue to build a program that can compete at the highest level of college soccer."

Mauro comes to Hamilton after a stint as the assistant to Director of Soccer Operations for the Cardinals. There, he coordinated the marketing and registration efforts for the program's 2014 Winter ID Camp and coaching symposium. He also assisted in the daily administrative operations of the program, including coordinating travel and organizing community service initiatives.

Prior to that, Mauro was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Cardinals.

During the 2012 season he started in 15 games and finished with an overall record of 11-3-1 to go along with 43 saves. He posted six shutouts and notched a career-high five saves twice, while also being a member of the Cardinals' 2010 NCAA College Cup Runner-Up squad.

Throughout his soccer career, Mauro has worked with numerous club soccer organizations such as FC Tucson (Ariz.) and Thoroughbreds Soccer Club in Louisville. With FC Tuscon, he was the goalkeeper coach before joining the Thoroughbreds organization as the Director of Goalkeeping.

Mauro had also been an assistant coach for the Louisville Achievement Soccer Academy since 2011. There he organized training sessions for campers ages 6-18 and worked with administrative staff to handle the daily operations of camp.
He earned his bachelor's degree in sport administration in 2013.
