Michael Cute enters his third season as assistant coach for the Colgate men's rowing team.

The summer of 2013 was an eventful one for Cute as he served as assistant coach for the U23 U.S. men's team at Vester Boat Club in Philadelphia. Vesper claimed the Independence Day Regatta team points trophy as well as the men's points, women's points and the overall points trophies at USRowing Club Nationals. At the Royal Canadian Henley, the men finished in the top-three in five different events.

In the summer of 2012, Cute 
was head coach of the U23 U.S. men's sculling team at Crescent Boat Club in Philadelphia. His crews advanced to the finals at both U.S Rowing Club Nationals and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.

For the Raiders, Cute in 2012 helped the Varsity 8+ to a ninth-place finish at the Dad Vail Regatta and the Varsity 4+ to a 10th-place showing at the IRA National Championship. 
His first year at Colgate saw Cute help the Raiders' freshman/Novice 8+ to final finishes at the Murphy Cup, Mayors Cup and Knecht Cup. He also helped the freshman/Novice 4+ and Varsity 2- to a pair of silver medals at the Dad Vail Regatta.

Cute came to Colgate with years of experience as a rower. A four-year member of the Marietta College men’s rowing crew, he also was a 2011 Knecht Cup and 2011 SIRA Varsity Lightweight 8+ champion, a 2010 JV Heavyweight 8+ Dad Vail Silver Medalist and a three-time Royal Canadian Henley Regatta finalist just to name a few.

Cute was also a three-year member of the Fairmount Rowing Association, an assistant coach for the Fairmount summer junior competitive team in 2010, and a three-year member of the Crescent Boat Club. In addition to his experience as a rower, Cute also has experience organizing the Marietta Rowing Invitational and was a camp counselor at ESF Summer Camps from 2007-2009.

The Pennsylvania native earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from Marietta College in May 2011.
