Pat Foley is coaching his fourth season at Colgate as co-defensive coordinator. Foley joined the Raiders staff after three seasons on the staff at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he was defensive coordinator under former Raiders assistant Mike Toop.
Foley began his coaching career in 2004 at Allegheny College as the outside linebacker coach, before spending the 2005 season as inside linebacker coach at Amherst College.
In January of 2006, he joined the Merchant Marine staff, where he coached the linebackers for one season before taking over as secondary coach. Foley also served as recruiting coordinator and assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Foley graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science. At Bates, Foley was four-year starter and letterwinner at inside linebacker. He earned New England Small College Athletic Conference Defensive Rookie of the Year honors and was named first team All-NESCAC as a senior.
Foley and his wife, Ashley, make their home in Hamilton. Foley is the son of former Colgate head coach Mike Foley, who currently is the offensive line coach at the University of Connecticut.
