Dan Larson is in his second season as Colgate’s running backs coach.
Last season saw Colgate’s top running back, Jordan Scott, become only the third player in school history to post back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
Larson came to Colgate from the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he was an assistant coach working with the wide receivers and special teams. Prior to his one year stint at UW-Stout, he was a graduate assistant at Marietta College coaching the running backs and punters for two years.
As an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Larson lettered three seasons in football earning all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors at defensive end in his senior season. The former Blugold captain was named his team’s Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2002, and was selected Academic all-Conference. During his junior campaign, Larson helped his team win the WIAC title with an 8-2 mark.
Larson, 28, was born September 4, 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a 2003 graduate of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications/Public Relations. He has a master’s degree in Education from Marietta College.
