WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Raiders dropped a road non-conference match to George Washington, 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at GW Soccer Field.
COACH HOKANSON'S COMMENTS
"Impossible to say I'm not disappointed with the result today. I thought we started on a pretty strong foot and were doing some positive things at the beginning of the game. Unfortunately, it felt as though after we conceded the first goal we had a really hard time asserting any control back over the game. Non-conference is about learning lessons and for better or worse we'll take some hard ones away from this game and get ready to head into another week of challenging games ahead."
MOMENTS OF THE MATCH
- Lydia Thornton fired a shot inside the first minute of action but the George Washington keeper was able to keep it out.
- GW took the lead six minutes into the match.
- Josie Tunney was able to get a shot off halfway through the first half but it missed the target.
- The Revolutionaries took a 2-0 lead just before halftime.
- The hosts scored a third a minute into the second half.
- Ava McCloskey rattled the crossbar in the 66th minute but the Raiders couldn't find a finish.
