Bair Selected to Preseason All-Patriot Team

Raiders selected to finish sixth in preseason poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Colgate Raiders women's basketball team has been voted to finish sixth in the 2025-26 preseason poll. This ranking was determined by collaborative nominations among the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

The preseason poll had votes dished out to several teams across the conference to keep the standings tight. Navy, selected to finish first, garnered two votes and 71 points. Trailing closely behind in second was Army with two votes for 68 points. Loyola Maryland, seated third, collected three votes for 63 points. In fourth is Holy Cross who captured two votes for 60 points and Lehigh in fifth tallying the last vote and 57 points.

Colgate was picked to finish sixth in the conference standings, the team has a new leader at the helm. Shannon Bush, a seasoned coach with two decades of experience, begins her first year as head coach of the Colgate women's basketball program.

Key players for the Raiders this season include Anne Bair, who has been named to the Preseason Women's Basketball All-Patriot League Team. Bair, entering her senior year, was a pivotal figure in the previous season, having started every game and leading the team in minutes played with a total of 1,109, averaging 33.6 minutes per game. She also contributed significantly to the team's offense, averaging 12.4 points per game. Putting up these numbers earned her a spot on the All-Patriot League Third Team in the 2024-25 season.

Another returning starter, Christina Miggette, is expected to be a vital asset for the Raiders. Last season, Miggette demonstrated her prowess with a .521 field goal percentage, making 63 field goals. She also excelled in rebounding, leading the team with 61 offensive rebounds and totaling 148 for the season.

The Colgate Raiders will kick off their season on Tuesday, November 4, at 6 p.m. against Siena, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the team.
