Raiders Conclude Season at Henley

Varsity Four and Varsity Eight Drop Hard-Fought Races

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England — The Raiders' time at the Henley Royal Regatta ended Wednesday after the varsity eight and varsity four boats were defeated in hard-fought races.

The morning began with the eight going up against a Syracuse crew that placed fifth at this year's IRA National Championship Regatta. The Raiders finished two lengths behind the Orange, who posted a time of 6:37.

In the varsity four race, Colgate competed against G.S.R. Aegir, whose crew were members of the Dutch National Team. The winners logged a time of 7:38, and the Raiders came in two and three-fourths lengths behind them.

The varsity eight opened the Henley Royal Regatta with a victory Tuesday morning.

Colgate went head-to-head against Imperial College London in its first race of the Temple Challenge Cup. The Raiders crossed the finish line in 6:44 to win by three-fourths of a length.
