LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — Colgate men's rowing competed against Syracuse in an unofficial dual Sunday afternoon on Onondaga Lake.

The Raiders raced their varsity eight against the Orange's second and third varsity eight, while Colgate's 2V8 went up against Syracuse's fourth varsity eight.

Each of Colgate's boats competed in four three-minute pieces against the Orange. No official times were recorded.

The 1v8 got off to a strong start, defeating Syracuse in the first piece. The boat was defeated in the second and third races before ending the day with a win in the fourth by open water.

The second varsity eight narrowly fell short in four highly-competitive pieces.

UP NEXT
Colgate takes next weekend off to prepare for the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship Regatta, which is being held April 14-15 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Raiders will look to defend their first-place finish at last year's event.
