ITHACA, N.Y. – Colgate women's rowing battled swirly wind throughout the day as they faced off against Cornell Saturday morning on the Cayuga Inlet.

Jessica Deitrick said "Today was a challenging day of racing for the team. We aimed to improve our racing tactics and test our speed early in the season. I'm proud of how the team rose to the challenge and excited to return to work on Monday on Lake Moraine!"
Colgate launched four boats in the dual meet against Cornell. They started out the day with the varsity four boat, which captured a time of 8:37.3 Shortly after the Raiders launched the first of three varsity eight boats, as the 3v8 sported a time of 7:28.56. Colgate continued the day with the 2v8 boat crossing the finish line with a time of 7:11.3. The final 1v8 boat finished the day with a 6:55.7, just short of the Big Red's 1v8.

"Next week we head to Philadelphia for the Murphy Cup regatta where we will get to test our speed against multiple programs including a couple of Patriot league schools- Georgetown and Holy Cross. It will be another challenging weekend but I know this team is up for it!"
