HAMILTON – Colgate University will welcome back its five Patriot League Trailblazers of Distinction this weekend as part of a comprehensive schedule of events to celebrate 50 years of women's athletics at the University.
February is always an exciting month for Colgate Athletics with winter teams working toward the postseason and spring sports kicking off their campaigns. This February has an extra element – a weekend of activities lined up to celebrate the past, present, and future of women's athletics at Colgate University.
The weekend celebration will provide opportunities to cheer on the Raiders, connect with student-athletes, participate in special events, and hear from the University's Patriot League Trailblazers of Distinction (Vicky Chun '91, MA '94, Dorothy Donaldson '05, Thayer Lavielle '93, Autumn McKenzie '97, and Dr. Merrill Miller). The weekend is free to attend and the schedule of events is below. Click HERE for more information and to register.
The Patriot League worked closely with staff from each institution to identify and honor individual women and special teams for contributions to their respective athletics departments, campuses, and society at large.
Each Trailblazer of Distinction represents the Patriot League's vision for their achievement of athletic potential in addition to values of integrity, character, and personal development. Collectively, the women and teams recognized have served as shining examples of the importance of the journey toward inclusion and gender equity.
