BALTIMORE – A pair of third-place finishes for
JD Suarez highlighted the Colgate men's swimming & diving team's performance Friday afternoon at Mangione Pool at the Fitness & Aquatics Center in dual meets against host Loyola and American.
Suarez was less than two seconds off the winning pace in the 200-yard fly with a time of 1:58.27, then narrowly missed out on an event win once again later on in the day when he touched the wall in 51.97 in the 100-yard fly.
Owen McCabe and
Jack Schurtz-Ford also turned in top-3 individual performances for the Raiders throughout the day. McCabe totaled 231.20 points in the one-meter dive to finish third and Schurtz-Ford also claimed third in the 100-yard freestyle with a final time of 47.45 seconds.
McCabe went on to just miss out on a top-3 mark in the three-meter dive when he tallied a score of 223.10.
In the double dual, Colgate fell to Loyola 245-53 and to American 198-90.

Colgate is back in action next Saturday, Nov. 11, when it hosts Marist for a 1 p.m. start at Lineberry Natatorium in Hamilton.
