CHERRY HILL, N.J. — The Colgate women's rowing team concluded its season with a seventh-place finish at the 2022 Patriot League Championship on the Cooper River.
 
The Raiders earned 16 points and placed ahead of Holy Cross and Loyola. Boston University finished atop of the standings, claiming the Patriot League Championship. Colgate was right in the thick of it heading into the final race of the day as the Raiders sat in a three-way tie for fourth.
 
Colgate's second varsity eight earned a third-place finish in its heat coming in at 7:46.03. The Raiders defeated Lehigh by seven seconds and came in just six seconds behind the second-place boat from Bucknell. Colgate advanced to the Grand Final where it placed sixth, crossing the finish line in 7:54.60.
 
The Raiders' varsity eight took fourth place in its heat with a time of 7:30.44. Colgate then recorded a second-place finish in the petite final defeating Loyola by 30 seconds but getting edged out by Holy Cross by just one second with a time of 7:33.90.
 
In the varsity four race, Colgate came in fourth place in its heat, finishing in 9:22.81. The Raiders then cut a second off their time in the petite final coming in at 9:21.24, good for second place.

"All season long we have made progress each race. Even though our results don't fully show that, we did make progress today. Our 2v8 made the grand final which was a big goal of ours.  You always hope for everything to go perfectly on race day, but unfortunately the 1v8 and v4 had a few uncontrollable things happen.

What I love is how the boats responded to those events.  I think that shows the progress this team has made this year. We will now turn our focus to summer training and continue to find more speed"
