CHERRY HILL, N.J. — The Colgate men's rowing team was victorious at the Knecht Cup Regatta this weekend with the Raiders' varsity eight taking home first place for the first time in program history.
On Saturday, Colgate won its heat with a time of 5:55.77, defeating boats from MIT, Trinity, Army, Iona, and Rhode Island.
The Raiders then advanced to the Grand Final after coming in first in the semifinals with a time of 6:01.17, which was less than a second ahead of the second-place boat from Mercyhurst.
In Sunday's Grand Final, Colgate once again edged out Mercyhurst this time by just over a second as it completed the course in 5:52.54. The Raiders also defeated boats from MIT, Marist, Michigan, and Virginia.
