Women's Swim and Dive Win Back-to-Back Meets
 
HAMILTON – Colgate swimming and diving wraps up the first Patriot League matchup of the season.
 
The women's team beat Lafayette 181-118, winning 12 events, while the men won six.
 
The women kicked off the day by winning the 400-yard medley relay for the second meet in a row. Mackenzie Ferguson, Regan Hau, Jordan Hurt, and Elizabeth Rainey made up the winning team coming in at 1:48.22, two seconds faster than the nearest opponent.
 
The freshman quartet of Matt Freund, Ryan Jee, Jack Lira, and Matthew Szypula placed second in the 400-yard medley for the men coming in at 1:36.72.
 
The Raiders dominated the 1,000-yard free, garnering the top four spots. Addisyn Donfris claimed first place with 10:49.23. Donfris was followed by Dana Witte at 10:52.12, Zoe Stokes at 10:59.85, and Katie Senglaub at 11:07.40.
 
Sophomore Peyton Wray claimed the first men's win of the day, nabbing first in the 1,000-yard free with 10:15.98.
 
Continuing the hot streak, Nora Bergstrom won the 200-yard free, coming in at 1:56.73, three seconds faster than the closest Lafayette swimmer. Ryan Blumenfeld claimed second place for the Raiders in the men's 200-yard free, finishing the race at 1:48.53.
 
Ferguson won her first individual event in the 100-yard back. Ferguson finished in 59.65 seconds.
 
Hau and Audrey Collins placed first and second in the 100-yard breast, coming in at 1:07.09 and 1:08.09.
 
Freshmen standouts Jee and Freund won their first individual event during the 100-yard breast and 200-yard fly. Jee finished the race in 59.63 seconds, his closest opponent finishing at 1:02.09. Freund came in at 1:54.20, two seconds faster than second place.
 
Emma Senglaub took first place in the 200-yard fly with 2:09.14. Fellow raider Donfris followed closely with 2:09.22.
 
Junior Jordan Hurt won her first event of the season during the 50-yard free. Hurt finished the event in 25.06 seconds.
 
The women couldn't be contained, taking the top three places in the 100-yard free. Collins claimed first with 54.70 seconds, followed by Elke Ambach in second with 54.81 seconds, and Rainey placed third at 55 seconds. Lira placed second for the men coming in at 47.89 seconds.
 
Ferguson and Szypula won their first individual events during the 200-yard back coming in at 2:10.77 and 1:56.56.
 
Hau claimed second place for Colgate in the 200-yard breast, finishing three seconds shy of first place with 2:27.75.
 
Both the men and women had a total of five top-three finishes in the 500-yard free. Bergstrom came in first with 5:12.49, followed by Stokes at 5:18.70, and Witte at 5:19.43 for the women. Freund placed second for the men at 4:54.12, followed by Wray at 5:00.19.
 
Senglaub snatched her second first-place finish of the meet in the 100-yard fly. Senglaub came in at 58.96 seconds followed by Hurt at 59.39 seconds. Jee nabbed his second win during the 100-yard fly with 51.54 seconds.
 
The final two Raiders' wins of the meet came from Collins and Syzpula in the 400-yard IM. Collins came in at 4:33.75, while Syzpula finished at 4:14.65.

The Raiders stay home for another dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 5, for a battle with Loyola. The meet against the Greyhounds is scheduled for 1 p.m. inside Lineberry Natatorium.
