Damjanovic, Smith Return After Trials Win; Gatsos Racing with Craftsbury

HAMILTON –
Colgate has three participants in this week's U23 World Rowing Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida. Racing begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday.
 
39557Alex Damjanovic and Luke Smith are competing in the lightweight men's double/2x after qualifying at trials. The Raiders pair have been training in Tampa and are repeat participants at the world championships.
 
Sam Gatsos is racing as part of a men's heavyweight quad/4x. Gatsos has been training with and is competing for the Craftsbury Sculling Center out of Vermont, rowing in the No. 3 seat.
 
Colgate head coach Khaled Sanad is on site coaching the Colgate pair of Damjanovic and Smith, who won their final at the Megatrials by one second in a time of 6:36.41. Craftsbury was a second-place finisher in the Men's 4x final.
