Colgate Falls to Lafayette in Overtime, 2-1

In a game where Colgate outshot Lafayette 26-14 and pounded eight shots on frame, the Leopards' goal in the 93rd minute made the difference. Camryn Monfort spun a long set piece into the box and Rory Schauder redirected a header toward the left post. Krista Kissell was in the right spot and one-timed a shot past Kelly Chiavaro 2:33 into overtime.

The win for Lafayette is its first over Colgate since 2000, snapping the Raiders' 18-game winning streak in head-to-head meetings. Colgate is now 30-2 against the Leopards all-time.

Sara Oswald staked Lafayette to an early 1-0 lead after dribbling toward the top right corner of the 18-yard box and lifting a shot high into the upper left corner of the net. Colgate saw more opportunities in the offensive end but could not capitalize before halftime.

The second half was more of the same, with the Raiders dominating possession before Hannah Pinkus finally cracked the scoreboard with the equalizer in the 59th minute. Caelyn Smith sent a pass ahead to Pinkus, who planted and made one move to her right before uncorking a rocket from nearly 30 yards out off the crossbar and in.

Colgate (1-7-3, 0-2-2 PL) continued to pepper Lafayette in the offensive third and rattled off one scoring opportunity after another. Dom DeMarco nearly gave the Raiders the lead in the 71st after connecting on a cross from Leah Lewis, but her shot from the doorstep was snared by Leopards keeper Natalie Neumann.

Lafayette (6-4-2, 2-1-1 PL) came away with a strong scoring chance after a foul just outside the box gave Kissell a set piece from 20 yards out. Chiavaro was all over the shot and picked up her fourth save to keep the match level in the 77th minute.

Possession stayed in the Colgate offensive end for the final 13 minutes of regulation. DeMarco banged a shot off the crossbar in the 86th minute before Pinkus just missed on a cross from Abby Sotomayor as time expired.

Pinkus headed Colgate's first shot just wide 27 seconds into overtime, and the Leopards capitalized when they needed to with the game-winner two minutes later.

Staying focused:
"I am proud of how our team, despite our record, continues to stay unified, focused and determined. We will work hard throughout the week as we remain steadfast in our quest."
