Raiders Find Success at Head of the Fish

Varsity 8+ Rows to Third Place; Open 2- Lands Silver

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Colgate's busiest day of racing thus far this season saw the Raiders bring home significant hardware from the Head of the Fish Regatta.
 
Colgate landed third-place medals in the Varsity 8+ and brought home silver in the open 2- manned by Alex Damjanovic and Luke Smith. Raider novice boats brought home bronze medals in the Novice 8+, two gold from entries in the Novice 4+ and another bronze also in the Novice 4+.
 
Here are the results of each boat:
 
42164Varsity 8+
Cox: Tali Filstein.
Crew: 8 Luke Smith, 7 Alex Damjanovic, 6 Gian Civitello, 5, Thomas Feeney, 4 David McKay, 3 Noah Barkoff, 2 Connor Appleyard, 1 Andrew Smith.
Results: Colgate finished third after crossing in 10:09.12. The Raiders trailed only Marist (9:49.46) and MIT (10:02.50) but finished ahead of such notables as Massachusetts (10:09.46), Tufts and Connecticut.
 
Men's Open Pair 2-
Crew: Alex Damjanovic and Luke Smith.
Results: The Colgate duo finished second behind only Marist. The Red Foxes crossed turned in a time of 11:38.00 to Colgate's 11:53.68. In third place was Greenwich Crew in 12:13.72.
 
Men's Collegiate Double 2x-
Crew: Seth Rosen and Jack Foley.
Results: The Colgate rowers finished fifth with a time of 12:14.88. First place went to Tufts in 11:36.67, followed by Rhode Island, Clarkson and Gordon, the latter boat just clipping the Raiders with a clocking of 12:14.62.

Cox: Lily Barna.
Crew: 8 Elliot Duessel, 7. August Girardi, 6. Luke Davenport, 5. Lucas Austin, 4. Colin Clark, 3. Harry Goodin, 2. Alex Lohr, 1. Ryan Pere.
Results: Colgate finished third with an official time of 10:54.58, trailing only Tufts (10:20.73) and Marist (10:31.41). Connecticut (11:16.19) and Skidmore rounded out the top five.
 
Novice 4+ A
Cox: Miranda Tompkins.
Crew: 4. Andrew Smith, 3. Noah Barkoff, 2. Thomas Feeney, 1. Elliot Duessel.
Results: First place overall, with a time of 11:28.05.
 
Novice 4+ B
Cox: Lily Barna.
Crew: 4. Alex Lohr, 3. August Girardi, 2. Colin Clark, 1. Ryan Pere.
Results: First place among the B entries and second overall, with a time of 11:56.15. Marist A and C finished third and fourth overall in 12:08.42 and 12:58.35, respectively.
 
Novice 4+ C
Cox: Seth Rock.
Crew: 4. Luke Davenport, 3. Lucas Austin, 2. Harry Goodin, 1. Rahul Bahanduru.
Results: Third place among all B and C entries with a time of 12:59.95, and fifth overall out of 15 total entries.
