Jessica Hay hurled a four-hit shutout while the Raider bats came to life in an 8-0 win over Yale Tuesday afternoon at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex. The victory helped Colgate bounce back from a 7-4 loss to Manhattan in the day's opener.
Hay earned her first career victory in the circle, holding the Bulldogs to just four hits through five frames. Senior

Lauren La Terra knocked in four runs in the 8-0 victory over Yale.
The Raiders, the designated visiting team, got on the board right away in the day's nightcap as Colgate put up a pair of first-inning runs. Bushee drew a leadoff walk before stealing second. First-year
Virginia Irby laid down a bunt single before advancing to second on a Yale error. La Terra followed with a two-run double to give Colgate a 2-0 lead through one inning.

Meghan Romero were followed by an RBI base hit from Bushee to open the second frame. Heads-up base running from Bushee and a Yale error allowed another run to score before La Terra followed with another RBI single to work Colgate's lead to 5-0 through two frames.
Colgate used three hits and a pair of Bulldog errors to tack on three more runs in the fourth. A two-run single from Irby and another RBI base hit from La Terra helped Colgate stretch its advantage to 8-0. Hay took care of the rest, keeping the Bulldogs scoreless en route to the 8-0 Raider victory.

Alicia Daly was later driven home by an RBI base hit off the bat of Bushee as Colgate quickly tied the score at 2-2 through two frames.
The Jaspers added a pair of unearned runs in the top of the third before plating three more in the fourth as Manhattan extended its lead to 7-2 through four frames. First-year pitcher
Brittany Bendel limited the Jaspers to just one hit through the final three innings to keep the Manhattan lead at five.
Grennan opened a seventh-inning Colgate rally with a single to right field. Bushee then roped a one-out RBI triple to right center before Irby followed with an RBI base hit to center to pull Colgate within 7-4.
