O'Hanlon Nets Five Goals in Rout of Siena

Colgate Outscores Siena, 9-3, in Second Half En Route to 16-8 Victory

HAMILTON – Haley O'Hanlon (Garden City, New York) scored a season-high five goals and added another assist to lead Colgate to a rain-soaked blowout of Siena, 16-8, Saturday afternoon at Beyer-Small '76 Field.

The Raiders put up 16 goals to tie their most goals in a game since putting up 18 at Longwood on March 18, 2015. Colgate has scored 16 goals in four separate games including Saturday since that 18-goal output.

Lindsay West (Bedford Hills, New York) had her first career hat trick in just her third game, tallying three-second half goals to continue the sustained pressure from the Raiders' offensive attack.

O'Hanlon dominated early on the game, scoring four of Colgate's first five goals including her first three on the free position. Tara Atkinson (Lloyd Harbor, New York) scored her first goal of the season and second of her career 5:34 into the game.

After Colgate took a 5-3 lead with 19:28 left in the first half on Tyler Sherper's (Mercer Island, Washington) first goal of the game, Siena's Maggie Cifarelli and Briana Sirianni each scored a goal to tie the game with 8:38 to go in the first half.

The Saints' late first half tie was as close they would get for the rest of the way as the Raiders scored five consecutive goals and eight of the next nine to extend their lead to seven.

After Kristen Brigagliano (Brightwaters, New York) scored her third goal of the season, the game entered a lightning delay for one hour and five minutes before resuming play. Much of the second half was played a torrential downpour but that did not stop the Raiders from outscoring the Saints 9-3 in the second half.

Payton Gabriel (Lakewood, Colorado) scored her first career two-goal game in the second half of play while Atkinson and Noelle Patterson (Vestal, New York) also added second half goals.

Colgate scored three consecutive goals on two occasions in the second half as the Raiders dominated the play.
