HAMILTON – Niagara's inside duo of Victoria Rampado and Kaylee Stroemple performed as advertised and the Purple Eagles knocked off Colgate 81-44 here Friday afternoon.
Rampado led all scorers with 22 points and added 11 rebounds, while Stroemple added 14 and eight. The Purple Eagles got a second double-double from guard Jamie Sherburne, who scored 11 points and dished out 10 assists.
Niagara after a challenging early season schedule reached a season-high point total for the second game in a row.
Colgate, meanwhile, lost its third straight for the first time this season.
Mylah Chandler led the Raiders with 10 points, while
Tegan Graham contributed a career-high seven assists.
Turnovers were the main Raider culprit, with Colgate equaling its season high of 24. Niagara posted a 30-9 scoring edge in points-off-turnovers.
