ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year Ash Fairow recorded a hat trick to lead Navy past Colgate 3-0 in the Patriot League Semifinals Friday Night at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
A strong 2017 season comes to a close after the Raiders made it to the Patriot League Semifinals for the first time since the 2014 season. Colgate made its tenth-straight Patriot League Tournament appearance. Seniors
Emily Crichlow,
Eliza Doll and
Keely Lockwood played in their final game after putting together outstanding careers for the Raiders.
Crichlow and first-year
Syd Maxson were named to the Patriot League All-Tournament game for their efforts in Colgate's postseason run.
The Mids were able to take an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute as Fairow netted her 10th goal of the season. Fairow doubled Navy's lead just under 20 minutes later as the Mids pulled ahead 2-0 in the 25th minute.
A free kick from first-year
Ellis Miller nearly put Colgate on the board a few minutes later, but her attempt sailed just high. The Raiders put together a few more chances, but Navy took its 2-0 lead into halftime.
Lockwood fired a shot on frame to open the second half, but Navy keeper Sydney Fortson was there to make the stop. The Raiders continued to pressure as shots from Miller, Doll and Crichlow all tested the Navy defense right around the 60 minute mark.
The Raiders continued to fight, but Fairow capped off her hat trick in the 85th minute to seal the Mids' 3-0 victory.

Head Coach
Kathy Brawn
- "We came up against a really excellent Navy team tonight. I thought everyone came into this game very focused on a night that we faced a team that is red-hot."
- "I can't thank our seniors enough. They've done an incredible job getting this team ready and making a positive cultural change. They've been great leaders and have put their heart and souls into this. The biggest disappointment for our players and coaches is that we didn't get to play them into a championship game. They've left a legacy that will pay dividends for our program for years to come."
