WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Colgate volleyball team couldn't get much going at first-place and four-time defending champion American Friday night as the Eagles claimed a 3-0 win at Bender Arena.

American broke a 9-9 tie with six-straight points to pull ahead 15-9 in the second set. The Raiders eventually clawed back within three at 21-18, but back-to-back kills from defending Patriot League Player of the Year Aleksandra Kazala secured a 25-20 set-two win for the Eagles.
American burst out to a 14-3 lead in the third set and never looked back. Colgate wouldn't be able to get closer than seven the rest of the way as the Eagles went on to win 25-12 to secure the 3-0 sweep.
