HAMILTON – Colgate Softball honored six special student-athletes Sunday during its season finale against Boston University.
The Raiders acknowledged
Megan Carnase,
Marisa Dowling,
Alex Gadiano,
Brigit Ieuter,
Alessandra Moore and
Mariel Schlaefer for all their devotion to the program over the last four years.
Colgate ultimately fell in the contest 5-0 to close out its season with a 12-29 overall mark.
Of the Raiders' final four hits on the day, three came from the bats of this year's graduating class. Dowling, Gadiano and Moore all registered hits with
Holly Geranen accounting for the last one. Gadiano's hit was for an extra base, handing the Reston, Virginia, native her fifth career double.
Ieuter and Carnase combined to pitch the seven innings for Colgate. Ieuter started the game allowing six hits and one unearned run during her five innings of work. Carnase came in for relief, pitching the final two innings giving up seven hits and four runs. The senior duo fanned two batters each.

Megan Carnase - This senior captain saw action in 94 games for the Raiders, making 38 starts in the circle. She finished with 20 complete games and two shutouts, while earning four saves during her time at Colgate. In her 325.2 innings pitched, Megan posted 146 strikeouts. In 2013 she was named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team after pitching 10.2 innings out of a possible 14 for the Raiders. Her major is psychology.

Marisa Dowling - This four-year letterwinner and three-year team captain saw action in 140 games for Colgate, starting in 129 of them. With an overall batting average of .244, Marisa has tallied a team-best 59 career RBIs. She has also recorded 95 hits, 50 runs, 11 doubles and eight triples. Playing the majority of her time at the shortstop position, Marisa has earned 259 putouts and 324 assists during her time in the field. Her major is English.

Alex Gadiano - As a four-year letterwinner Alex saw action in 116 games, with 76 starts. Alex has posted 27 hits, while accounting for 20 runs. The senior recorded five doubles and five home runs during her time in the Maroon and White, with her most recent long ball coming earlier this season against Princeton. Her major is biochemistry.

Brigit Ieuter - This senior pitcher and four-year letterwinner has made 95 appearances in the circle while earning 77 starts. She has an overall 3.13 ERA, is sits 10th all-time in wins. Brigit has struck out 204 batters during her 446.2 innings of work. She was named to the 2015 All-Patriot League Second Team, while also being named to the 2015 Patriot League All-Tournament Team. Brigit sits fifth in school history with nine shutouts and ninth in strikeouts. Her major is psychology.

Alessandra Moore - This four-year letterwinner saw action in 78 games, notching 49 starts. She has notched 26 hits and four runs. Alessandra has three doubles to her name, with her most recent one coming against Lafayette last weekend. She notched 14 walks, while registering 86 putouts and four assists. Her major is political science.

Mariel Schlaefer - This three-year starting catcher saw action in 119 contests, earning 115 starts before suffering a career ending injury. Mariel tallied 101 hits and 56 runs throughout her career to go along with her .301 batting average. She also recorded 14 doubles, three triples, 55 RBIs and a team-best 17 home runs. She ended her career eighth all-time in home runs and 20th in total bases. Her major is political science.
