Colgate head coach Bill Cleary: (On Gonzaga being Colgate's best opponent to date) "By far. That's a great team and they can beat you in so many ways – inside and outside. They're very well coaches and an absolute great team."
(On the nonconference season) "The main thing we told our players today was they had to keep their heads held high. We've had a very difficult nonconference schedule. One of the things we did a great job of, particularly learning a whole new system offensively and defensively, is we were competitive in 10 of our 11 games.
"It's a process and we've talked to our players about that process. One of the things I was proud of today is they continued to fight. We got down early but it didn't get too out of hand. (The second half) was much better than the first.
"We told the players to keep their heads high, a lot of positives we can take, and the schedule definitely has gotten us prepared for Patriot League play."
