Colgate Wraps Up Dual Meet Slate at Cornell

Raiders Swept by Big Red in Last Meet of Regular Season

Meet Results

ITHACA, New York – Colgate Swimming & Diving closed out the regular season Saturday with a dual meet versus longtime rival Cornell at Teagle Pool.

Erica Silverman, Maggie Carney, Courtney Gilroy and Lindsey Sagasta all won individual races for the Colgate women while Carter Christensen, Danny Graham and Trey Johnson claimed races for the Raider Men.

- Cornell improved to 3-5 (women) and 3-5 (men) with the sweep.
- Colgate moved to 7-5 (women) and 4-9 (men) with Saturday's results.

Women's Highlights
- Silverman claimed first in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall at 2:10.16. Silverman also posted a third-place result in the 200 back (2:13.46).
- Carney placed first in the 100 butterfly, posting a time of 59.64. Olivia Castro made it a 1-2 finish for the Raiders, claiming second (1:01.11).
- Gilroy sparked Colgate to a 1-2-3 result in the 100 IM, placing first with a time of 1:04.85. Maggie Carney (1:05.24) and Bernadette Tankle
(1:07.00) took second and third, respectively.
- The Raiders took the top two spots in the 200 free relay. The pairing of Sagasta, Madison Fitzgerald, Olivia Castro and Gallagher took first
with a time of 1:27.64. The grouping of Kimberly Chan, Sam Hynes, Michelle Dols and Cammie Kirby took second (1:48.28).
- Sagasta won the 100 free sprint race, touching the wall with a time of 53.46. She also claimed second in the 200 free posting a time of 1:56.07 while
Gallagher placed third (1:56.87).
- Gallagher took second in the 500 free, posting a time of 5:12.39.
- Kirby placed third in the 100 breast, posting a time of 1:08.39
- Cauley claimed third in the 200 breast, turning in a time of 2:36.34.
- Colgate took third in the 400 medley relay. The pairing of Fitgerald, Kirby,
Silverman and Sagasta posted a time of 4:06.44.

Men's Highlights
- Carter Christensen claimed first in the 50 free sprint race, touching the wall
with a time of 21.77, edging teammate Andrew Hacker (21.78), giving the
Raiders a 1-2 finish in the race.
- Danny Graham took first in the 100 butterfly, posting a time of 56.06, Christensen gave Colgate a 1-2 result in the race, taking second with a time of 58.43.
- Trey Johnson captured the 100 IM as he placed first with a time of 56.39. Hacker took second (56.75) and Max Michael (56.93) claimed third.
- The Raiders took the top two spots in the 200 free relay. The pairing of Cairns, Kersjes, Christensen and Hacker took first with a time of 1:27.64. The grouping of Dominic Wilkins, Graham, Ryan Mathes and Michael placed second (1:33.70).
- Anders Brekke placed third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.75.
- Des Cairns took third in the 100 free with a pace of 48.78.
- Paul Kersjes placed third in the 500 free, posting a time of 4:55.82.

"This was a meet that we knew was going to be an uphill battle. We used this meet as an opportunity to get some people a chance to swim events that they don't get to swim that often.

"We wanted to come in and get one last solid swim in before we begin preparations for the Patriot League Championships. Now we will shift our focus getting ready for the Patriot League Championships. Dual meet season is over and championship season is upon us. We're looking forward to racing fast last month in Annapolis."
