Swimming & Diving Coach Ready to Begin Second Season With Raiders

HAMILTON – Colgate Athletics began a new era with the announcement of Andy Waeger as the Mark S. Randall Head Swimming and Diving Coach in July 2014.

The Raiders made great strides in Waeger's first season at the helm in 2014-15. The women's team began the season with six victories and finished with an 8-4 record. The Colgate men, meanwhile, showed continual improvement during the regular season and posted an eighth place finish in the Patriot League Championships.

Both programs were ranked among the most improved in the nation according to website collegeswimming.com. Waeger's squad's also excelled in the classroom, as both teams were recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America as Scholar All-America programs.

Waeger arrived in Hamilton from TCU, where he was assistant coach for the Horned Frogs for two years. He earlier served as women's head coach at Lock Haven and as men's and women's head coach at Slippery Rock on the Division II level.

"The men's and women's swimming and diving programs have made incredible strides in Andy's short time here thus far," said Colgate Director of Athletics Victoria M. Chun '91, MA'94. "I am so excited for what is in store for these student-athletes under his tutelage.  His knowledge, worth-ethic and competitive spirit will that this program to new heights."
