Colgate Extends Streak With Win Over AU

Colgate Extends Winning Streak to Four With Win Over American; Secures No. 2 Seed for Patriot League Championship

HAMILTON – Freshman Haley O'Hanlon scored six goals and sophomore Isabel Kreitler added three to lead Colgate to a 15-7 victory over American in Patriot League women's lacrosse action Saturday at Beyer-Small '76 Field.
 
With the win, the Raiders secured the No. 2 seed for the Patriot League Championship, which will take place April 24 & 26 at Loyola (Md.).
 
Colgate never trailed in the contest as O'Hanlon tallied four of the first five goals of the game to spark the Raiders to an early 6-0 margin.
 
American temporarily halted the Colgate attack as Madison Hoon got the Eagles on the board to make it 6-1, but the Raiders responded with another lengthy run in the form of an 8-1 spurt, to build a 14-2 cushion midway through the second half.
 
American responded to the Raiders spurt with five straight tallies to make it a 14-7 contest before senior Abby Valentino closed out the scoring with 1:30 remaining to determine the final margin.
