HAMILTON –
Colgate men's soccer saw two goals from Ethan Kutler and one from Tyler Forbes to help lift them past Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-1, here Friday night.

The Raiders got on the board early, scoring 10 minutes into the game. Rookie Jared Stroud started the play by sending a brilliant ball into the 18-yard box. Sophomore Zach Pagani chested it down for assistant captain Forbes to finish into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal.

The Knights quickly answered, however, a little more than five minutes later, but a goal 1:37 into the second 45 minutes proved to be the difference.

Following a Raider corner kick from the right side of the field, captain Tanner Schilling one-touched the ball to the back left post. Kutler came flying into the box and smashed it with his head into the lower right corner of the net for the eventual game-winner.

Then in the 77th minute, Kutler portrayed a stellar solo performance after juking a Knight's defender in the box. Colgate played the sophomore a long ball down the right side of the field. Kutler took a few touches before swiftly beating the FDU defender with a crafty move. He took one more touch before firing a shot into the lower left corner of the net for the Raiders' insurance marker.

The goal marked Kutler's sixth of the season and eighth of his Colgate career. Forbes' goal shifted him to six overall and the first of his junior campaign.

Colgate continued to showcase its strong ball movement and possession throughout the remainder of the game, to hold on to the two-goal victory.

The Raiders are back in action Sunday when they host Siena at 2 p.m. on Beyer-Small '76 Field. Live stats and video will be available at gametime.

Straight From The Source
• Head Coach Erik Ronning: (On Kutler's performance so far this season) "He is obviously producing and that's what attacking players do. Ethan is a special player and has been creating quality opportunities for us. He is pretty efficient with those chances as well."

"When you get a little cushion like we got tonight it certainly takes a little pressure off everyone. His best thing tonight wasn't his goal scoring, actually, it was the manner in which he tracked back to win balls back after he lost the ball. And I'll give credit to everyone in that respect.

• Sophomore Ethan Kutler: (On bouncing back from two tough losses last weekend) "It was great to finally start playing. We are moving the ball well and finishing opportunities. We are playing like one and it's all coming together."
