From the Sources•
Colgate head coach Nicci Hays Fort: (On the team's goals for this game) "For this game specifically, we wanted to have 25-plus deflections and we had 22 in the first half. We wanted to really get out and deny and make things hard for them offensively. We did that, especially in the first half.
"In the second half, they started a dribble-drive on us and we fouled a little too much. We got a little anxious, and we need to clean that up.
"But we moved the ball really well in transition. We had 22 assists – maybe even more – so we did some really good things on the offensive end."
(On who stood out) "Missy shot the ball extremely well, Mariah had seven assists and Carole had 15 points – almost a double-double. It was a good team win. Everyone contributed."
•
Colgate guard Missy Repoli: (On her shooting touch) "My teammates found me for wide-open shots and I just let it rip."
(On her goals for the night) "Before the game, Coach had us write our season goals on the board. We went over them one by one and talked about how we can work today to get us to the next point. One of ours is to be top-four in the Patriot League, so how could we work on certain things today to reach that goal.
"We did a lot of great things out there, although there are things to improve on like better rebounding. Overall, everyone did a great job for the first game."
