PHILADELPHIA -- Carole Harris scored 17 points to lead three Raiders in double-figures, but Drexel prevailed 59-51 Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders played their best basketball in the second half, rallying from a 17-point deficit to trim the margin to just four with 10:52 remaining. That 15-2 burst featured five points from
Missy Repoli, four each from
Josie Stockill and
Mariah Jones, and a closing layup from Harris.
The lead reached 10 points again inside the final four minutes before Colgate rallied once more. The Raiders closed within four in the last 65 seconds but could draw no closer.
Drexel (2-1) opened the game with leads of 9-0 and 17-5 before Colgate (0-3) got on track. Dragons forward Sarah Curran led all scorers with 19 points, including 13 after intermission.
Along with Harris, Colgate's scoring was led by Stockill with 12 and Jones with a season-high 11. Stockill and
Randyll Butler shared game rebounding honors with seven apiece, and Stockill blocked three shots.
