BOSTON – Colgate women's soccer and Boston U. faced off in harsh conditions Wednesday night in a battle of two top Patriot League contenders.
Behind buckets of rain and winds ranging up to 50 mph, the Raiders unfortunately saw the Terriers grab two first half goals to ultimately secure the victory and upset against first-place Colgate.
Boston U. scored in the opening five minutes of the game and the closing five minutes of the half to pull ahead 2-0. Despite some solid chances from the Raiders in the second 45 minutes, Colgate was unable to put one past the Terriers' goalie Alyssa Parisi.
With the loss Colgate dropped its first contest since its season opener against then No. 19-ranked Boston College back on Aug. 22. This was also the first time the Raiders allowed more than one goal in a game since that tilt.
Colgate has a quick turnaround hosting Lehigh on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game is set for Beyer-Small '76 Field and will be the final regular season home contest for four senior student-athletes. There will be live stats and video available.
