COMPLETE RESULTS
HAMILTON – The Colgate women's swimming and diving team downed Lafayette, 197-93, and came up short against Army by a 169-130 score on Saturday.
Colgate had eight individual victories in the meet with
Morgan Cohara leading the way with three of the eight wins.
Cammie Kirby came through with two wins, while
Lindsey Sagasta had two as well.
The Raiders got off to a great start with a win in the 400-yard medley relay as Cohara, Kirby,
Megan Jex and
Sami Wary combined to finish in the top spot with a time of 3:55.98.
Cohara finished the weekend with six individual event wins in the two meets. She scored a win in her first swim, which came in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.99. She then followed that with a victory in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:06.21. Cohara's final win came in the 500-yard free as she clocked in at 5:04.49.
Kirby got her first win of the meet in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.54 and then earned the sweep of the breaststroke events with a victory in the 200-yard event at 2:27.17.
Sagasta won two of three freestyle sprint events. She took home first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.99. Sagasta then narrowly beat out teammate
Sami Wary for the victory in the 100-yard freestyle at 52.56 seconds.
Flora Hanson was another winner for the Raiders with the final win of the meet coming in the 400-yard individual medley. She finished with a time of 4:30.37.
Melanie Lockard joined Wary as a second-place finisher as she took a runner up finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, clocking in at 18:08.53.
Colgate will not be in action until early February with a visit to Connecticut before Patriot League Championships.
