Describe your athletic career in one word.
Awesome
What have you learned from swimming at Colgate?
I've learned how to persevere for the love of the sport and the team. Our team has been very small in comparison to most patriot league teams throughout my four years here, yet we still work very hard all year for the same goals, bringing us very close together.
What's the best part of being a student-athlete?
The ability to have a great academic experience while fulfilling your athletic aspirations at the same time.
What are your goals for the rest of the season?
Patriot League Championships are next week at the U.S. Naval Academy. We want to swim lights out, and beat Lehigh in the team score for a fourth place finish. After that I want to get a personal best time at U.S. Olympic Trials in June in Omaha, Nebraska.
Who would play you in a movie about your life?
William Kent Downing, (New Canaan, Conn.)
How has swimming impacted your four years here?
It has given me my best friends. Although time consuming and sometimes challenging given the academics here, I wouldn't change my experience for anything.
What's your favorite memory from swimming at Colgate?
400 Freestyle Relay from my freshman year at patriots. It was George Bennit,
Tucker Gniewek, myself, and Pat “The Stallion” White. We got second behind Navy, beating Bucknell by .03 seconds and broke our varsity record by 8 seconds.
What is one food that you would never be able to live without?
Feta Cheese
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen athletes?
Have Fun
What would you like the rest of the student body to know about being a student-athlete?
Thank you to those who come and watch our meets.
