Patriot League Release
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Five plays from the 2012 Patriot League football season were up for Top Play of Year, and after a fan vote on Twitter, Colgate quarterback
Gavin McCarney was the clear winner.
His hashtag of #TheMcCarneyLeap was Tweeted more than any of the other four plays to win the League's first fan vote for Top Play of the Year. McCarney received Tweet support from fans and teammates, as well as current Kansas City Chiefs running back and Colgate alum
Nate Eachus.

The phrase “The McCarney Leap” was coined from the junior quarterback's 51-yard touchdown run against Holy Cross on Oct. 13, when he took the option left and hurdled a defender before cruising to the end zone for one of his 23 rushing touchdowns of the season.
McCarney talks all about the play in the following video, which also includes a new, never-before-seen sideline view of “The McCarney Leap.”
