HAMILTON – The Colgate men's swimming and diving team was back in action at Lineberry Natatorium for the second time this season and the Raiders dropped a decision to McMaster by a 195-80 score.
Dan Sweeney and
Des Cairns earned event victories for Colgate in the loss. Sweeney won his best event, the 50 free, with a time of 21.55 seconds and Cairns ended up with a win in the 100 free, clocking in at 47.31 seconds. Cairns also took a second-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 52.92 seconds.
In addition to Sweeney's and Cairns' performance,
Andrew Hacker earned a second-place finish for the Raiders. He took second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:06.12.
The Raiders took second in both relay events as Cairns,
Carter Christensen,
Paul Kersjes and
Milos Gak took second in the 400 free relay, clocking in at 3:16.24. Cairns and Christensen then joined
Haakon Brekke and Sweeney in the 200 medley relay to take second at 1:38.08.
Colgate will be back in action against Buffalo this coming Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Lineberry Natatorium.
