HAMILTON, N.Y. (2/1/11)—Colgate University Director of Athletics David Roach has announced the promotion of
Ann-Marie Guglieri to Associate Director of Athletics and
Jamie Mitchell to Assistant Director of Athletics. Guglieri is in her third year as the head of the compliance office at Colgate, while Mitchell has served as an Assistant to the Athletic Director and Ticket Manager for the last two years.
“In three years Ann-Marie has built many great relationships on and off campus in the area of compliance,” said Roach. “She is highly respected by all our entire staff and the many campus constituents she has worked with.”
Guglieri was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance in December of 2007. Guglieri's primary responsibilities include oversight of the comprehensive compliance program for all 25 sports and serving as the lead sport administrator for four varsity teams. In addition, she the liaison to the academic support program for all student-athletes and supervises Colgate's equipment room staff.
Guglieri holds a master's degree in education with a concentration in athletic administration from Springfield College. A 2004 graduate of Syracuse University, Guglieri was a three-year starter on the Orange field hockey team. She earned all-Big East honors in 2003, and was a Big East Academic All-Star in 2000 and 2002.
Mitchell was named Assistant to the Athletic Director and Ticket Manager in July 2009 after serving as an administrative intern in 2008. Mitchell's main responsibilities will be overseeing Colgate's ticket operation and assisting in marketing for all 25 of Colgate's varsity sports. He will also provide support to the compliance office and to the Faculty Committee on Athletics.
“Jamie came to Colgate as athletic administrative intern in 2008 and has developed into a key member of our administrative team,” stated Roach.
Mitchell has a master's degree in physical education with a track in sports management from Florida International University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and Bachelor of Science degree in sport management from Florida State University in 2004.
